“Forensic” psychological evaluations are typically conducted in anticipation of a possible legal proceeding, such as a trial, hearing, or personnel action. These evaluations are usually conducted at the request of a third party (such as a court order). The third-party — and not the evaluee — is typically considered my “client.” Examples of specific forensic evaluation services are listed below.
“Therapeutic” psychological evaluations are typically conducted when someone is seeking psychological treatment. These evaluations are usually conducted at the request of the person who is seeking the therapeutic evaluation. The evaluee is typically considered my “client” (or “patient”). Examples of therapeutic evaluations are provided below.
